As part of getting a professional license, you need the pass the written and practical exam given by LTO. When it comes to written exam, this includes questions about traffic signs, road safety measures and different driving standards.

In my experience, after 6 months of obtaining a student’s license, I went back to LTO and applied to non-professional license. I choose two restrictions. One is for driving a motorcycle and one is for automatic four wheel car.

After your application, you will then proceed to waiting area. You need to wait there. Your name will be called by an authorized personnel if it’s your turn to take the written exam.  In the waiting area, there are reviewers that you can browse. You can use these so that you’ll get ready in taking your exam.

In the examination room, you will be given with a unique booklet number and an answer sheet. This is to prevent cheating. You’ll then be asked to chose the language in your exam. You may take the Filipino or English exam. Please avoid cheating by copying the answer of your seatmates. There are sets of exam. The order of questions may be different from your seatmates.

LTO exam is a Multiple choice exam with time limit. You really need to be efficient in answering it.

Now, let’s go in answering your LTO EXAM. How to pass it.

    1. Read the questions carefully

Like in any other assessment exam, most of the choices are almost correct. You need to choose the best answer to the question.

    2. Do not stuck yourself with one hard question

As much as possible limit yourself in answering one question. If you find it hard, skip and go back to it later.

    3. Don’t get confused with repeated questions

You’ll encounter two identical questions in the exam. This is normal. They want to check if you are really sure with your answer.

    4. Avoid making an erasure with your answer sheet.

As you take your exam, you’ll see that the answer sheet will be checked by the machine. You’ll be shading the correct answer with the use of a pen. It is very common that many commit errors in shading it or even make their answer sheet messy. In worst case scenario, you’ll get low score or the machine won’t read your answer sheet.

    5.  Don’t get distracted by those people who finish early or those people who are talking and passing beside you

This is what I notice before I finish my exam, many got pressured because little by little examinees are starting to submit their answer sheet to the proctor. This put pressure to others who are seriously taking the exam. Don’t pay attention to them and aim for higher score. The proctor will notify you regarding the remaining time,

As far as I remember, during my time. The LTO written exam is consisted of 50 questions. I think the passing score is 35. Not really sure though now.

Before I end this, one of the most effective way in passing the LTO written exam is to get prepared before arriving there.

You still have your practical exam after the written one.  I wish, you’ll have your license soon. Best of luck!
