This is a copy of Lost Hearts by M.R. James. This is a classic story that you may want to read and share with your friends.

Lost Hearts by M.R. James is a literary piece that has been preserved and keep for public use. If you are interested to use this as one of your subject in your future study then please do so.

Lost Hearts was first published in 1904, featured in M.R. James' Ghost Stories of an Antiquary. This ghost story tells the tale of an orphan boy about to turn twelve, Stephen Elliott, who is sent to stay with Mr. Abney, the boy's cousin, at his remote estate in the country. He is an alchemist obsessed with his quest to acquire immortality. Young Stephen is soon haunted by mysterious apparitions.

A little information about the author, Montague Rhodes James, better known as M. R. James, (August 1, 1862 - June 12, 1936) was a British scholar, story teller and writer. He is best known for his ghost stories and for developing some of the elements that are still used in that genre.
