I know many are wondering how to apply as a public school teacher in the Philippines. Today, I will share my experiences here.

By the way, I applied twice in a public school teaching position. I tried my luck in getting an item or slot in Quezon City DepEd Division Office but I did not make it. Instead of  being sad, I guess it’s best to just share what I have learned in the application process.

Here are the following things that I did.

First, I gathered all my certificates, together with my resume, letter of intent to teach and the form needed for the application.

Second, I submitted all those documents in the school where I want to teach. They will forward it to Quezon City DepEd Division Office. (In my second application, I directly submitted those document in QC Division office)

Third, you will receive a notification from the Division office regarding a schedule in Proficiency test and your demo (usually the test and the demo wont happen on the same day)

Fourth, you will have to undergo an interview. This person might be a principal or department head/s from different schools.

Fifth, you need to wait for an advise regarding an item or teaching position that you might get base from all the points that you got from the exams, interview and credentials/certificates.

That was my experience in QC DepEd Division. I can’t remember all the details because it happened 4 years ago.

I don’t know if it’s the same with other division offices.

If you have your own experiences in public school teaching application, feel free to share it here.

Thank you so much for reading.
