This poem simply talks about the road, path or decision that we make in life. In a normal basis, we, as humans, usually choose the simple and easiest way in dealing with problems. We follow some common patterns and we are afraid to take risks. We don’t do the other way around because we don’t want to be different.

The “road” in the poem symbolizes the path or the decision that we make in life. In comparison to the road that we take when we go home, we usually choose the one that we are comfortable with. We don’t want to take a road that we are not familiar with.

Likewise, in our dreams, we tend to live simply and not to follow our hearts anymore. This brings us to the idea of mediocrity and living normally, instead of finding the best way of fulfilling our dreams.

The Road Not Taken meaning is very applicable to those who aspire to become different in this challenging time of COVID-19. We are all one step closer in deciding what road we are going to travel. It is always up to us.
